| Subject: I say we start a new 40k season end of September/start of October! Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:08 pm | |
| So I am back in Sugar Land since a week, and having fun getting slowly back into 40k despite looking for a job, trying to get the personal life figured out, getting active in local politics, looking for scholarships, etc. I think we should start another 40k league up again soon. My birthday is in a few weeks so I am itching to maybe get 1 or 2 more small things to add to my collection, not sure what yet, and would like to get to play in a league or tournament with whatever I come up with. This would also be a great incentive to paint certain models.
What do you guys think? | |

| Well, right before we left for BoLSCON we came to sort of an understanding that it might be a good idea to take a break from the league and tournaments for the month of September. So I'd guess that starting in October it'll be as good a time as any to get the League started again.
I had also mentioned before the convention the prospect of starting up a Necromunda mini-campaign. We have a ton of city terrain at the store now, and since Necromunda doesn't require more than a dozen models to complete your "gang", I figured it would be something fun and EASY to do on the side. Of course, I don't see why we can't do both starting in October. As the test games between David, Jack, and myself showed, Necromunda games only take about an hour to complete.
The only complication with starting a Necromunda campaign is that the game never had an official FAQ or errata made for it. There are a few Q&As with the authors about certain fishy rules, but other than that the game could probably use a very hefty "house" FAQ that we would need to put together. As it stands, anyone with half a brain could look at the starting roster for the various gangs and pick out the top two or three gang houses that are clearly better than the rest, simply due to the availability of their starting equipment. | |
