Why in the name of Pete would you give your honor guard both meltas and plasmas? Paying 60 points per unit to be able to fire a second shot at the cost of assaulting seems like a bad deal. You could use those points to increase your assault squads to 10 men and add a second special to them.

This is essentially the BA equivalent to that, the main difference is that they're straight melta and palsma weaponry, instead of single shot combi weapons, & the unit has FnP, so boohoo overheats.

The army is designed to DoA in, (if that wasn't painfully obvious), and give multiple options to fire. Vanguard and Sanguinor take care of CC, while everything else is mainly for shooting. triple priests should provide excellent coverage for FnP and FC.

I do believe the question is why wouldn't you do this... These units are designed to come in and guarentee kill something. Like ow no, a land raider! Well meltas don't work in texas... so we brought 8 one should have some juice in it. Or imagine 16 plasma gun shots... don't care it your got some storm sheilds your loosing dudes.

Its an excelent choice and I give it my stamp of approval...
